Artist Bio

Originally from London, UK, Sarah McAllister is an expressive, gestural nature painter who works in acrylics, watercolor and oil. 

Her work explores themes of nature as a means to uplift and heal. A poetic exploration, that sees nature on a continuum of movement and vibrancy and not as a something static. 

Creating a conversation that goes beyond just the subject matter, investigating themes of grief and loss.

After moving to California in 2000 Sarah earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in painting with distinction from the California College of the Arts (CCA) and has established herself as an emerging artist in the Bay Area, California. She is currently a member of City Art Gallery in San Francisco and the Oakland Art Association, and works from her studio in Oakland overlooking the San Francisco Bay.

Her work is represented in group and solo shows in various galleries and venues in the local Bay Area throughout the year. She was also a finalist in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London, UK, in 2022.
